LWJ asks WWX before they get married if he would be willing to be the pack omega. WWX thinking that that entails something VASTLY different agrees w/out question. JYL was his old pack& #39;s omega.
She took care of the younger pack members (him and JC), cooked, cleaned, helped around when people got sick...etc. It& #39;s a caretaker role! And it& #39;s not like WWX has anything else to do. He figures at most he& #39;ll make their meals and babysit some Lan juniors. Easy peasy.
They return to CR after their honeymoon and settle in nicely. They have a routine. WWX is comfortable and he wants to make sure his second shot at life is spent being with LWJ. Being LWJ& #39;s omega husband has...interesting perks if they can be called that.
Where at once he expected everyone to hate his guts and want nothing to do w/ him, they....don& #39;t. LWJ gave him a cloud pattered ribbon w/ gold trim after their wedding. He wears it in his hair intertwined with his red one. People stare at it and therefore him A LOT.
WWX doesn& #39;t think too deeply about it. He finds himself spending a lot of time with LXC. He& #39;s often invited to tea w/ the Lan sect leader and strolls after lunch. LWJ will accompany them sometimes. LXC gives him gifts and sneaks him liquor.
LXC smiles at him especially bright, and goes above and beyond his duties as a brother-in-law to make WWX is as comfortable as possible. It& #39;s nice. The stranger thing is that LQR also seems nicer? Well...he could be grumpier but he& #39;s not.
He does not reprimand WWX w/ the same intensity for breaking the rules. Does not yell or berate WWX for demonic cultivation and one time during a shared dinner LQR offered WWX a napkin when he got food on his face.

One night WWX goes back to the Jingshi after a day spent in the library. LXC and LWJ are quietly sharing tea. They both smile at him and it makes his stomach fuzzy. The three of them sit together and enjoy pleasant conversation. LXC bought snacks for him while he was in Lanling.

WWX swallows past a lump in his throat. He feels nervous and has the distinct feeling he& #39;s missing some valuable piece of information. He wants to ask, but LXC looks so sweet and expecting (and smells really fucking nice), like he& #39;s been waiting for awhile to make this request.
He would be a bad brother-in-law to say & #39;no& #39; right? Right, so he& #39;ll just ask in the morning when he can get LWJ alone again.
