Are you ever just, in a random moment, struck by what a mess this country is and feel your blood pressure rise suddenly.

A man who killed 150 of our kids "escaped" from our custody. It should have been the biggest failure of the state in recent times. There was barely a squeak.
The media who couldn't stop talking about something until your ears bleed was barely able to confirm the news. The opposition couldn't hold the government accountable, let alone the government mustering the spine to question the security agencies. No one even remembers it enough
to even talk about it.

For years, we have treated this country as a battleground sold to the highest bidder. Our jawaans as mercenaries. Our civilians as second class citizens in their own country. And people, unfortunate enough to be born in the wrong provinces as expendable.
Bigger deal is made out of Pashtun activists, political parties fallen out of favour, Baloch activists, students asking for internet access, doctors asking for protective gear in a pandemic than there was of a terrorist who killed 150 of our children.
He got live interviews, protective custody and then he escaped and no one said a word about it.

And now there is another blast. In another school. We lost more of our children. We have traumatized those who remain.
And look at the state of us, we can't even say, "This is wrong" without fearing for our lives. From the men we pay to protect us.
