From the day RBG died my inbox and phone has been filled desperate pleas to fund the countless institutions of the #resistance and pleas to vote them out. 2/

Even a minute of reflection would reveal that this twin approach-smaller dollar donations and voting-is insufficient, is it became clear last night, because by Nov 3 it would be too late. 3/

If there is political problem to solve it is the inverse relationship between the hysteria of the left/liberal/resistance and political leverage. 4/

The problem if it can be called that is one where actual exiting politics has been replaced by an anti-politics of “decency,” by the resistance. 5/

Where material well being is subordinate to effecting a posture of caring and a proper deference to norms. So the sins of the GOP are not the actual effects of their actions not framing them in a narrative of care. 6/

I’m going to stop this thread here b/c it feels like this is also all common knowledge. The solution, a politics grounded in materiality, is also not rocket science. 7/
