just a reminder to support the smaller, independent coverage of women’s hockey (NW *AND* PW) alongside the big names:

- @elindsay08 and @TheIXNewsletter
- @michelle_jay3, @strongforecheck, and the entire crew over at @TheIceGarden
- @DRdiabloTHW, just in general
Most of us do not make a living doing this. I’m 19, don’t have a degree in journalism (or a degree at all...yet), and am balancing being a full-time student and an internship. That doesn’t mean that I — or anyone else — care any less about these players and these organizations.
I’ve been covering the PWHPA since their appearance at the ECHL All-Star Classic in January, and the NWHL and NCAA since I was given the opportunity to write for The Ice Garden.

It can be really discouraging sometimes. Especially when players aren’t happy with your coverage.
But I want a better future for all of these athletes and for the next generation so I, like many of the writers I mentioned, keep dedicating time and energy and a lot of times my own money, to covering these players and this game that we all love.
So please keep clicking, keep reading, keep sharing. Show our bosses and our financiers and us that women’s hockey coverage matters, that you care.
also this thread isn't intentionally excluding anyone. There's lots of great independent coverage out there, and you're all welcome to promote your own coverage as you see fit! I'm simply taking the moment to share coverage of people who share my coverage and support me.
