These calls for a General Strike don't work. Or at least not in my area?

Here's what would happen if I stopped showing up to work: 80% of my co-workers would still show up because I live in a Republican covid-denying belt, and I'd be fired.
Strikes work when *everyone* participates. How are you gonna get high participation when we're not even sure we have the popular vote in the bag?
Strikes work when you have a fund to protect the vulnerable. How you gonna ensure everyone doesn't starve to death or die from healthcare issues when we're not being paid?
Strikes are not a magical self-organizing thing that instantly drives change. The employers will push back and try to break us. And too many of us are already at a breaking point.
You think it's a coincidence that most Americans have no savings, and are one emergency away from disaster? That's by DESIGN. You can't strike if you're living paycheck to paycheck and need that week's money to live and eat.
