They permanently laid off a huge chunk of their staff, especially in Youth Services.

Long story short: @cincylibrary permanently laid off several staff members and completely devalues the education and skills that go into competently serving youth.
Libraries are making hard decisions, but this is so short-sighted.

And here's the thing, they know this will be very bad in the long run, otherwise they wouldn't have sugarcoated it like this. They could have been honest about budget and what they've had to to, but they spun it like this instead. Way to squander institutional trust.
