The reason this seat is on the ballot is that former board chair Anna Shepherd passed away in June. Metro Council appointed @BerthenaforMNPS. This special election will allow the victor to serve through 2022. While so much attention is on the presidential race, local races are important. @MetroSchools already struggled with challenges in funding, uneven academic gains and historic inequities. #COVID19 exacerbated those problems esp. since most kids are still doing virtual learning. \\
