1/ One thing about the whole handling of the elevation of Justice Barrett. Doesn't have anything to do with her, or her legal approach. Has to do with *how* she was talked about. All the partisan celebration of motherhood.

There are moms on the bench. This is not news.
More importantly, we all know "conservative" moms. And "liberal" moms. And whatever moms. But mostly, I know moms who don't have time to give a hoot about stuff like this because every second of their lives is already taken up trying to keep a roof over their families' heads,
food on the table, the kids in school, etc. And maybe in all that, they get a second or two to watch a favorite TV show? But most of the time, they probably don't. So the whole politics of "look what a mom can do" is kind of wasted, because moms are already DOING, and maybe we
shouldn't wait until they're on the Supreme Court or Leaning In over in Menlo Park to say "Wow, you're amazing. What can we do to help?"

Just saying.
