Your initial tweet, which portrayed it as an unjustified shooting, has thousands of shares. Entire neighborhoods are being destroyed and innocent people being hurt based on that perception.

If press can& #39;t report on these incidents responsibly, they shouldn& #39;t do it at all. https://twitter.com/EllieRushing/status/1320916292568813568">https://twitter.com/EllieRush...
The video clearly shows him chasing 2 officers with a knife and threatening them. Could they have waited for him to take another step closer?

Maybe.

Is this a clear example of misuse of force? Not based on that video.
You get the feeling that some people, including those at many press outlets, are almost rooting for violence every time one of these incidents happen at this point. That& #39;s the only explanation for how irresponsibly they frame their descriptions after them.
Thread.

This is why I thought the framing and coverage of the Philadelphia police shooting was so irresponsible. They added fuel, and this is the fire that resulted: https://twitter.com/Julio_Rosas11/status/1321219983159033858">https://twitter.com/Julio_Ros...
It& #39;s not just the press. Ex: You have irresponsible idiots like Rex Chapman fueling anger by pretending police only shoot suspects with knives if they are black.

In 2019, police shot/killed 73 white suspects with knives and 33 black suspects with knives https://twitter.com/RexChapman/status/1321104439525187585">https://twitter.com/RexChapma...
That comes from the Washington Post database on police shootings: https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2019/national/police-shootings-2019/

But">https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/... it doesn& #39;t fit the narrative they used to fuel anger today so instead they pick one random video and pretend it is representative. No matter how dishonest or harmful.
But Rex Chapman lives in a nice neighborhood. So do most of the reporters doing this. They don& #39;t live in the predominantly minority neighborhoods currently being terrorized and destroyed. They got their views, RT& #39;s, likes etc.

People in that city have to live with it tomorrow.
