Short thread on this.

1. Caveat. I work in law. I don't work in anti-competetion law though. But... https://twitter.com/LiamJKennedy23/status/1321030196636647424
2. This is a pre action letter. Anyone and I mean anyone can send a pre action letter. Notably you do not 'serve' as is claimed a pre action letter. Service only arrives once you have issued court proceedings which has not happened.
3. A pre action letter in reality means very little and can be batted away by the PL. The onus is on the person bringing the action to then issue proceedings. This is where significant costs risks come in to play. You only bring proceedings of you think you have strong case.
4. The fact this is brought by two supporters. Fair play to them but I doubt they have any financial clout to make anything more of this. The PL will know this too.
5. I'd only take notice if this comes from Ashley and co. Until then I doubt it will make any difference.
6. I enjoy @LiamJKennedy23 work and this is not a pop at him. I do however feel the article is a little misleading.
