Dear Twitter:

We need to have another talk about the strongman con.

Why do you all give Trump so much power over you? He tells you to panic and you do. When you panic, you help him appear mighty. He isn’t. The voters are. https://twitter.com/Teri_Kanefield/status/1320911228839997440
Panic is unbecoming. What is becoming is the ability to solve problems as they are put before us.

Yours truly, Twitter mom.
People ask me to make them "feel" better.

I cannot guarantee a happy ending.

If enough people vote for Biden, democracy will survive. A last-minute surge in Trump voters means 4 more years.

It's up to us. That's what's wrong with panic. You act like it's up to someone else.
Yes, this was where McConnell's interests and Trump's interests diverged. https://twitter.com/parallaxer/status/1321071076181381120
Trump's reelection would been helped by saying, "You want me to fill Ginsburg's seat, vote for me.

His ego wanted this.
But he knows how to pull a rabbit out of a hat . . .
. . .and use the nomination to send liberals into a panic, which builds him up as a strongman and impresses his followers, who might turn up to vote because they so enjoy the prospect of Trump flexing his muscles and sending liberals into a panic.
