#nctapologize #boycott_resonance dear american fans, you need to understand that korea doesn’t have this “educating-people-for-their-mistakes” culture. this only exists in the us and has spread through stan twt. you are making a fuss about comments the members said that are not
offensive in korean, cantonese, mandarin, etc. you want your cultures respected (as it should be) but you don’t respect their culture. respecting a culture not only is not appropriating traditional clothes or not doing ethnic dances. it is also respecting that words have
different meanings around the world. using adjectives like palid or tan might be offensive or colorist in the us, but i assure you it is not in many other countries. the same goes for words like fat. please respect that not everything has the same meaning in every language.
also, some of you take this “educating” your idols to a whole new level. you claim kfans want to control them with their high standards, but you american nctzens also have very high standards for them, but they’re just different. some of you have a superiority complex and think
you have the right to educate them about something that’s offensive only in your country (again i’m talking about colorsit/fatphobic/ableist comments, not anything else). if they say something considered offensive in the us, you instantly consider them problematic and guilt trip
those who don’t consider it saying “it’s having basic human decency”. maybe you’re right,it is that. but keep in mind that the definition of having basic human decency is different everywhere. you don’t even have to agree with another culture’s perspective, but at least respect it
when did all this “educating” thing started? this didn’t happen some years ago. if a celeb fucked up, people got mad or stopped stanning. now you’re moving like those kfans who you claim are childish for always demanding apologies over everything.
you have all the right to be offended about what they say, since people interpret things differently. but you cannot accuse someone of this or that for speaking in their native language in their own country & for saying something totally accepted there, even if here it’s offensive
Dear American (aka USA) fans, you are not the center of the world. Some of you are pretending to be woke but are just silencing blpoc fans who are the ones hurt. It is very hypocritical of you to demand respect for someone’s culture, but then disrespect someone else’s
just because of mistranslations or personal interpretation of words.
Just to avoid misinterpretations from my thread,I am not talking about cultural appropriation or insensitivity, since in that case other cultures are involved and therefore it is totally understandable why they demand an apology. I am ONLY talking about the accusations of certain
comments made by the members that have been totally blown out of proportion. And for those of you who want to “educate” them because you’re worried this will be their downfall or it might affect the group because now they’re labelled as problematic, I assure this
is an issue in stan twitter (and probably us fans in general) only. This will not affect how people view them in the rest of world. You cannot “educate” a Korean to American standards. #nctapologize #boycott_resonance
Lastly, you’re always saying how they’re grown ups and they know what they’re doing so they know when they fuck up. If they’re mature enough to fuck things up (i. e. in the case of comments they make to each other), they’re also mature enough to solve things between them alone.
