"through a rapist's eyes" and what they look for in their next potential victim : a thread
The rapists either try to appear helpless & weak to have the victim sympathize and come near them to "help" them with whatever they use as an excuse,

OR they try to corner the victim by trying to appear extra strong so the victim gets discouraged and not fight back.
The first thing they look for in a potential victim is hairstyle, if it will be easy to grab.

They are also likely to go after a woman with ponytail, bun, braid or long hair. Women with short hair are not common targets.
The second thing men look for is clothing.

They will look for women who's clothing is easy to remove quickly.

Many of them carry scissors around specifically to cut clothing items.
They also look for women busy doing activities like searching through their purse, on their phones or doing other activities while walking as they are off guard and can be easily overpowered.
The most common places women are abducted from/attacked at are grocery store parking lots, office parking lots/garages and public restrooms.
The survey also shared that most men are likely to attack in the early morning, not the evening. Statistically, most rapes occur between 5 am & 8:30 am

+ on times when the streets are empty, may it be at night or afternoon they only look out for crowd not being present to help.
These men are looking to grab the potential victim and quickly move them to another location where they don't have to worry about getting caught.

Thats why resist, shout "fire" or anything other than rape/robbery coz sadly some ppl dont rush to help when its the latter one
Only 2% said they carried weapons because rape carries a 3-5 year sentence but rape with a weapon is 15-20 years.

so chances are the fucker trying to pin u doesn't have any weapons other than scissors, keep him at a distance by either yelling "i have a pepper spray" etc
If you put up any kind of a fight at all, they get discouraged because it only takes a min or two for them to realize that going after you isn't worth it.

They said they wouldnt pick on women who have umbrellas, or similar objects that can be used from a distance in their hands.
Keys are not a deterrent because you have to get really close to the attacker to use them as a weapon.

So, the idea is to convince these guys you're not worth it.
If someone is following behind u, look them in the face and ask them a question like what time is it, or make general small talk "I can't believe it is so cold out here", etc.

Now you've seen their face and could identify them in a line-up; you lose appeal as a target.
If someone is coming toward u , hold out your hands in front of you and yell STOP or STAY BACK ! Most of the rapists have said they'd leave a woman alone if she yelled or showed that she would not be afraid to fight back.

Again, they are looking for an EASY target.
If someone grabs you, you can't beat them with strength but you can by outsmarting them.

If you are grabbed around the waist from behind, pinch the attacker either under the arm (between the elbow and armpit) or in the upper inner thigh VERY VERY HARD.
After the initial hit, always go for the GROIN.

You might think that you'll anger the guy & make him want to hurt you more but these rapists have confessed in prison that they looked for a woman who wont cause a lot of trouble. Start causing trouble and he's out of there.
When the guy puts his hands up to you, grab his first two fingers and bend them back as far as possible with as much pressure pushing down on them as possible.

or punch him on the neck
“Everyone’s out to make it look like there’s something inherently wrong with rapist. But they are a part of our own society. They are not aliens who’ve been brought in from another world.” they are taught to look at women as sex objects and goods.
“When I went to research, I was convinced these men are monsters. But when you talk to them, you realise these are not extraordinary men, they are really ordinary. What they’ve done is because of upbringing and thought process.”
"After you speak to them, it shocks u, these men have the power to make you feel sorry for them. I almost forget that these men have been convicted of raping a woman. In my experience a lot of these men don’t realise that what they've done is rape. They don't understand consent."
In addition, a study carried out by WOAR showed that women ages 16 - 24 years old are four times more likely to be raped than women of any other age.

Needless to say, women in college fall directly in the middle of this age range, making them the easiest & most frequent victims.
According to WOAR, the Women Organized Against Rape, 85 percent of all women raped personally know their attackers.
"With few exceptions, the murderers blamed themselves for their crimes,"

"Whether it was premeditated or an act committed in a moment of irrational anger, they regretted it & realized how their actions had affected other ppl, destroyed lives. This was not the case with rapists."
its disgusting how females have to be cautious doing mundane tasks, fear for their life everyday while leaving for work, studies or basic errands.

schools and households should do more on teaching their sons what consent is than teaching their daughter how to dress
