Every few months there's a study that shows that Covid antibody levels declines after infection, and the media incorrectly announces that natural immunity to Covid-19 fades. This morning, BBC News was guilty of this.

These studies are just are confirming textbook biology. 🤦‍♀️⬇️
I have a lot of cognitive dissonance when reputable sources push stories backed by "experts" that directly contradict what I learned in A-Level biology. I thought OK, maybe textbooks were simplifying things. And then I see immunologists reaffirming things. There's a lot of noise.
This is going to do a lot of damage to trust in scientific journalism and communication. The underlying study ( https://www.imperial.ac.uk/media/imperial-college/institute-of-global-health-innovation/MEDRXIV-2020-219725v1-Elliott.pdf) doesn't conclude what the headline says, at all.
Imagine actually thinking your immune system is meant to permanently have the same level of antibodies as at the peak of the infection? ffs
