2/Two examples: In 2017 the Executive Director rejected a recommendation by the Fundamental Rights Officer and the Consultative Forum to suspend operations at the Hungarian border. Reason: not enough SIRs. Reports by NGOs and human rights bodies were disregarded.
3/In July 2020 Commissioner von der Leyen dismissed concerns raised by MEPs based on the investigation by @derspiegel @LHreports @Bellingcat @ForensicArchi et al on deaths & violence at the Greek-Turkish border in March by claiming that no SIRs were submitted.
