It undoubtedly takes the strongest determination to win an election on the platform of an opposition party. Anyone that's today aspiring to swim against the political tide in 2023 had better start preparing from now.
My crucible like experience since I ventured into politics as an opposition figure is not in any way enviable at all. Nothing could be worse than my experience of being locked up in a police cell for 5 days
even when the 2019 election was only one week away.

I took the grace of God and unusual courage on my part to still be able to manage and go ahead with my campaigns after I was released.
My experience with my political party in the run up to the 2019 election was most unpalatable. I suddenly discovered that my name was omitted by the time INEC released the names of candidates according to our local government areas.
I had to rush down to Abuja and was constrained to sleep outside the conference hall being used by
INEC as its center due to space constraint. It was only in the morning of the next day that I was told that the party officials had sold my form to an opposition party.

The only option available to me at that point was to make a refund of the money that my party officials had collected from the opposition party.
