In a very emotional Facebook live, South West representative of the First People's Assembly of Victoria, @EileenSissy, has announced that she has made the decision to "step off" as a member of the Victorian Treaty process over the destruction of sacred Djab Wurrung trees.
"I will be 110% from this moment onwards, stepping off the Treaty Assembly and will no longer be Sissy Austin South West elected member to the First People's Assembly of Victoria."
"I will not be part of something that doesn't reflect the heart, the soul and the spirit of my community."
Reflecting on her first speech she says: "I said the decision that the Andrews government makes in regards to the Western Highway duplication project will make or break the Victorian Aboriginal communities trust in the Daniel Andrews government with regards to Treaty."
"That trust is broken, and more importantly our hearts are broken. We are traumatised by losing an element of country that we will never see again."

So heartbreaking.
