I believe in a 25-30 hr work week.

40 hrs is actually insane and it’s a clear indicator of an inefficient work environment.

25-30 hrs a week. That’s it.

Work to Live. Don’t live to work.
In addition, you see more people using their “discretionary” effort in work environments that live by this.

Why?

Because, psychologically, as humans, we’re wired to work and create, but our best work happens in a state of flow, not when forced to be by our desk.
Everyone’s flow state is different:

For me, it’s after drinking tea.

For you, it could be while washing dishes or after taking a walk.

Our best ideas don’t come to us while “working” or knocking out tasks.

They come to us when detach ourselves from work.
25-30 hrs per week. That’s it.

Here’s the funny thing, this scales to large enterprise organizations as well.
