If I had to start my journey all over again

This is what I would do

18 years old
-Go to the military
-Learn about stocks, e-commerce, real estate in my free time

Stay in for 6 years, get out with 50k saved + 1 house, dive into entrepreneurship full time
If I didn’t think military was for me

I’d go to a union and learn a trade

Pipefitting, carpentry, plumbing etc

+ I’d move out of my hometown

That’s one thing I think EVERYONE should do while their young, get out of your hometown
I would also focus on finding the right friends, that are interested in what I’m interested in

So many times we only have friends because we’ grew up with them

They may be from where you’re from, but if they ain’t trying to go where you’re trying to go, they gotta go
Also

I would either settle down in a serious relationship early or avoid them all together until 25+

I think everything in between usually just ends up being a waste of time
Find hobbies that I’m interested in, ones I can do for hours that challenge me either mentally or physically

This is where I’ll meet my new friends most likely.
One of the biggest lessons you’ll learn at this age 18-24 is to stop looking for social acceptance

Do you, be you, the world will adjust.

Once you don’t care what other people think of you, you become Superman / superwoman.
While working I’m going to save 30% of my income at least

If you’re in the military this is hella easy, you’re fresh in, no bills + free housing and food

I would probably spilt it 15% savings 15% investing into the S&P 500 ($SPY) until I had confidence to invest myself
I’m you’re not in the military 30% might be harder but if you have roommates it makes it easier

That comes down to the next thing..

Cars!

Cars are dope but I’m too broke to care about them, catch rides / walk / bus until I have 3500 saved then buy one in cash. No loans!
Social skills are important so I’d go out on a few Fridays & Saturday’s monthly

At least 2 days per month I’d go to kickbacks / house parties / college parties

I’d focus on the art of a conversation

Here’s a secret I learned in life

Being likeable, funny & fun takes you FAR
When shitty task come up at work guess who gets them?

The least likeable / most annoying person

You want to be “cool, fun and unique” likable not “trying to fit in” likeable

Learn how to tell a joke, learn how to take a joke, learn to command a room & strike up conversations
On that note here’s a few things you need to know about socializing

1) Know how to make friends w/ the opposite gender without trying to date or sleep with them

2) Learn how to make friends with people who DON’T have the same skin color as you OR listen to the same music as you
America is very segregated

People hang out with people who look, act, & talk like them

You know what they do to everyone who doesn’t fit this... judge them and criticize

Get past the superficial shit very quick.

This is an important lesson
Next: Start traveling

What I did was take trips to cities that were a few hours away, stay the night there and explore

This is a good way to teach yourself what’s worth spending your money on

Start with day trips, move to overnight trips and longer drives on The weekends
You know what happens when you’ve been to different places, tried different foods, tried new sports, read interesting books, take care of your body, have some cool friends and you’re good with your money?

The world becomes your playground
After a few years of doing this when it’s your time to leave the military or walk away from your job & do your own thing you’ll have everything you need to survive in the world on your own

You’re fun, smart, charming, likable, intelligent & curious

This is when the fun begins
