#WalterWallaceJr was mentally ill! The issue is the way police handled that call. There was no reason for them to shoot him right then and there. They did not properly deescalate the situation. That’s our issue.

Nobody said he was unarmed or innocent. The issue is that a white guy with an automatic weapon shot up a school Nd was peacefully apprehended, where as this black man with mental health issues holding a knife was shot dead with no type of deescalation!!!

Walter was having an mental health episode due the medication he took. His mother called the police because there’s only ONE mental health crisis counselor in the ENTIRE city and he was already handling a situation.

The cops came to the house with guns drawn. His mother begged them not to shoot because he wasn’t in the correct mental state. He dropped the knife before they even shot him!!!!!! I’m pissed!! #MentalHealthAwareness #WalterWallace #BlackLivesMatter
