The paper bill was inspired by the answer of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo during the Q&A portion of the pageant on Sunday.
According to Mikel Sarate, the design features color red that portrays power and illustrates a phenomenal woman like the late senator.
The Jaro Cathedral in IloIlo which symbolizes the love and devotion of the Ilonggos; a hablon which is considered as an indigenous fabric; the Rafflesia speciosa; and Santiago's "medal of honor."
If given a chance to choose the face of a new paper currency, newly-crowned Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo said she would pick late senator, describing her as the “best president we never had.”
