What Brendon Urie has been through. A thread.
In 2006 Brendon went on anti anxiety medication while touring with @PanicAtTheDisco. Brendon explains how he dealt with his mental illnesses below while simultaneously encouraging others that feelings are fleeting and they will be okay.
2006-2008, Brendon, along with the other members dealt with not only delegation of creative ideas within the band, they dealt with being famous so young. They were experimenting with their youth like most normal teenagers and early adults do, they had to do this in the spotlight
2008-2009 the people you considered family just a few short years ago are now who you fight with the most. Management not encouraging lyricist to sing or vocalist to write. Fighting within the band due to long tours together and creative disagreements.
2009: Panic at the Disco break up.
2009 Brendon starts dating Sarah Orzechowski, Brendon is writing happy tweets again, Brendon is feeling good again. Confidence is being built by both broken off sections of Panic!
2010 enter Dallon Weekes and Ian Crawford, touring replacements for Jon Walker and Ryan Ross. Hired for a Blink182 show. Ian Crawford and Dallon Weekes are both considered for permanent touring members pending a new album release.
2011 Vices and Virtues is released with grandiose lyrics and harmonies. By this point, Panic! was only officially Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith. Brendon Urie breaks his foot on stage early 2011 and contracts a very serious flu upon his arrival home from Indonesia in late 2011.
After Urie broke his foot he still continued to play his show and several others afterward on crutches. The only show missed by the lead singer was after contracting a flu that lead to a fever of almost 104.
2011 Brendon proposes to long term girlfriend Sarah Orzechowski.
2013 Too Weird to Live Too Rare to die is released. At this point Ian Crawford had left Panic! in 2012 and the official members now include Brendon Urie, Spencer Smith and Dallon Weekes. However I believe Dallon was promoted in 2011.
2013 continued: Brendon and long time girlfriend Sarah Orzechowski get married in Malibu in beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends. https://greenweddingshoes.com/glamorous-malibu-wedding-sarah-brendon/
2013 continued: Spencer reveals to fans that he has an addiction to prescription pills and alcohol and will be seeking rehabilitation. Brendon struggles with this as one of his best friends. Spencer is replaced by drum tech Dan Pawlovich. http://www.mtv.com/news/1711538/panic-at-the-disco-spencer-smith-addiction/
2015 Spencer Smith announces he is leaving Panic! at the Disco and official member Dallon Weekes is demoted back to touring member.
2015 Sarah & Brendon move into new dream home in Los Angeles where Brendon writes, produces and records his album Death of a Bachelor, at this point Panic! at the Disco is solely Brendon Urie.
2017 the Death of a Bachelor tour sells out world wide and Panic! Is seeing its first large rise back to fame since its inception. Panic! Is nominated a Grammy for Death of a Bachelor. Hot off the heels of tour Brendon announces he will be going to Broadway!
On March 21st 2018 Panic! fans worldwide were completely shell shocked by the album release date and 2 singles put out by the band along with surprise pop up shows in the United States.
Panic! at the Disco surprises audiences at the pop up shows with their new bassist Nicole Row!
June 22 2018 Pray For The Wicked is released and blazes through the charts with its biggest singles being High Hopes and Hey Look Ma, I Made It! At this point Panic! at the Disco is solely Brendon Urie with touring members (2013) Kenny Harris, Nicole Row and Dan Pawlovich.
Brendon Urie releases his newest project a The Highest Hopes Foundation, created to support non profit organizations that lead, develop and advocate for Human Rights. https://panicatthedisco.com/highesthopesfoundation
Brendon Urie begins streaming on twitch chatting to fans while on tour. Dubs his community as The Vro Crew due to a typo made by @JakeChams.
This community became a home for Brendon and many people. There were stories, laughs ....and as Brendon says “a silly goose time” all the time. Music was listened to together. All proceeds given by fans to Brendon’s twitch as subs were given to the Highest Hopes Foundation.
Pray for the Wicked leg one is still going and the band must find a replacement for Guitarist Kenny Harris.
Enter Mike Naran who finishes off leg one of the PFTW tour and continues on into leg 2. The band, despite their blips with members coming and going seems to be at its happiest.
While on tour for Pray For The Wicked Brendons long time body guard Zack raises concerns about Brendon walking through the crowd for what they called the “Death Walk” due to it being to the song Death of a Bachelor from the album of the same name. https://www.altpress.com/news/panic-at-the-disco-death-walk-brendon-urie/
Fans were kissing, touching and grabbing Brendon without his permission during the death walk. Brendon brings his extreme discomfort up on a live stream
I could go on about the numerous awards won by the band since DOAB in 2015 but there are so many I couldn’t keep count. Since Brendon himself took lead of the band it has done better than it ever has, of course with the help of touring members and past members.
2019 Continuing long passed tour, Brendon sticks to his community on twitch and his assistance with non profits advocating for human rights.
2020 a somber tone is set for this year already as a pandemic takes over the entire world. Civil rights movements are started as Brendon becomes outraged at accusations of racism and discrimination against him
Brendon gets extremely angry discussing the complete injustice of George Floyd’s death
Brendon hosts the Vro Prom in May of 2020 to give fans a prom that couldn’t go due to the pandemic.
Brendon takes a break from streaming and social media as he and his wife educate themselves on white privilege and being an ally.
Now here we are. If you’re not tired from reading and absolutely astounded the man is still standing and creating music at this point, I don’t know what to tell you. This man is a force to be reckoned with and has only gotten better with each battle he’s faced.
There are so many in betweens involved that aren’t even mentioned here. I touched in the BIG points.
I ask you all now to remember that we are human. Brendon Urie is a human being and he has been through ALL THAT. He is not a product, he does not belong to us for us to poke and prod. He’s a human being.
Be kinder to each other. Understand that we are all humans just trying to learn and make it in this world.
