the amount of people who are lonely and feeling left-behind in the TSS fandom because of their lack of recognition is ABHORRENT. i see people all the time telling each other how poorly they feel because they don't measure up to the "popular" standard we've set. (1/?)
as a fandom, this has gotten out of control. every day, i see people idolizing the hierarchal, well-known fanders, and i am so sick of it.
from the rooftops, i can hear impending cries of "all fanders are equal!" and ideally, they should be! but they're not. (2/?)
the standard of wholesomeness for this fandom is impossibly high, so much so that the issues are swept under the rug. this can't continue. it's terrible to feel like you're nothing to your favorite creator, and other people matter more. that ache is an indescribable pain. (3/?)
on the matter of all fanders being equal, i'm here to say that it is, to put it simply, a major falsehood. a select few get noticed by name, some even getting to have full conversations with Thomas himself on a regular basis. in addition, you NEVER see small fanders being - (4/?)
- hyped up as much as the more popular ones are. it's a true disgrace to truth to say that all fanders are equal. a more accurate statement would be that all fanders SHOULD be equal. the fact remains that people get left out and skimmed over because of the hierarchy. (5/?)
now, what can be done about this?
well, for a start, listen to smaller fanders more. include them in those group chats that are so perpetuated in the fandom. recognize their work and promote it just as much as any big fander's work would be. make them feel seen. (6/?)
second off, big accounts- stop tagging Thomas in every single thing. this sounds like i'm trying to say to never tag him at all, and that's not the case. but, i have noticed a big influx of tags towards him that are getting noticed when they're not necessary. stop that. (7/?)
finally, stop worshipping the bigger accounts like they're Thomas himself. they're not. we are all fans of the same person, and we're all human at the end of the day. they may be cool, but they are no different than you or me. direct that towards smaller accounts sometimes. (8/?)
i hope this thread has been helpful in your efforts to abolish the fander hierarchy. thank you for reading. remember, no matter who you are, your contributions are appreciated by someone.
stay safe out there, babes. i love you all. -Jasper (9/9)
