Public health experts - including Trump's former FDA commish - have been calling SINCE MARCH to transition to a test/trace/isolate strategy that would enable a safe rollback of closures. Trump ignored it all.

No public health expert - like, literally, none of them - has ever wanted indefinite lockdown.

What we've wanted, and shouted for until we were hoarse, was a plan for ending lockdowns without letting cases & deaths explode again.

Trump decided to just skip that part.

And his play since April - which @SWAtlasHoover is gamely mimicking - is to make you think there was no other option.

It's not just a choice of door A, we let a lot of people die, door B, we keep the country closed through 2021.

We can build a door C in which we reopen without killing a few hundred thousand more people.

So what Trump and @SWAtlasHoover are telling you by pushing this false choice is that they can't be bothered to do that.
