also Black Hawk was a real leader who was held captive & toured around the country by the government as a show of military might. when he died settlers dug up his bones to try to put them on display. his strength on behalf of his people was twisted & propagandised all his life.

if you look at that history and still think it’s cool to exploit his image to sell hockey jerseys and merch against the express wishes of current First Nations leaders, i don’t know what else to tell you.
