Its kinda weird, but a neighbor who was a widower, retired military, and retired from auto plant, spent last 10 years outside working yard, fruit trees, and huge garden. Every day he was outside we'd always wave Hi to each other.....
He'd come over occasionally and encourage us to pick what we wanted from garden and fruit trees because he'd say the garden was his way of remembering his late wife and he couldn't possibly use everything he grew...
Past few years he got sick, and he couldn't do the gardening and what not, but he'd have friends and family help with that, as well as his huge house. Someone would bring him to his house sit in his garden....
I saw him there a couple of months ago, and tho we waved I knew he was struggling. He died a month ago. But every day I still look over to his house, get a bit sad. Don't know my exact point of this thread, other than nothing is permanent except death
