If you, too, have tried "buying stuff just to feel something" as a coping mechanism, what has been your most useless and/or embarrassing quarantine purchase? (I have had a goddamn METAL DETECTOR sitting in my house for five months so I promise this is a safe space!)

the "i will emerge from quarantine like a beautiful butterfly from a chrysalis" starter pack, purchased before i realized that if you cannot be bothered to do fancy beauty stuff in normal times, a pandemic is not going to be Just The Thing
