For 19 days straight, Sioux Falls has broken our previous day's record high of active COVID cases.

We have 252% more sick people than we started the month with.

3,226 of our family, friends, and neighbors are battling a disease that could still be slowed if we had a plan. 1/4
During this 19 day record-breaking surge, test results have been 32% positive.

Public health policy focused on lowering our tests below 5% -- the globally accepted testing range -- would keep people healthy while limiting disruptions to businesses and schools. 2/4
Local & state policy must include:

1) An aggressive PR campaign about the dangers of our status quo and the opportunity we have to do better.
2) A clear goal of lowering our positive tests below 5%.
3) Legislative options, if spread continues at its record-setting pace. 3/4
We can prevent further illness & death.

This will only happen if our elected leaders do their jobs. They should've acted when our positive test % foretold trouble ahead, but it's never too late to do the right thing.

The time to act is now.

Stay safe & be kind đŸ˜· 4/4
