I just made my first mortgage payment and well... here’s a thread of what I’ve discovered 1 month into homeowner ship...
I bought my home alone- a male presence would be easier for simple shit like lawn care, changing the filters, going into the attic
etc.. but if you don’t have a male presence expect extra expenses for a handy man.

As y’all know my water bill was $200 mf dollars. But it’s because of my sprinkler system. I was lit when I discovered I had one, but the downfall is your water bill will be high. (Turn it off during the winter & you’ll be fine)

Daily I have to remind myself I cannot just call maintenance anymore. Although everything is under warranty I still YouTube and have to watch videos on how to fix something if need be.
In conclusion, would I buy a house again?! Absolutely. I got lucky, my mortgage is only $300 more than what my rent was. In my opinion the little extra fees aren’t really a hassle, but I also built my house & didn’t buy pre-owned in which this thread wouldn’t apply to you.
