TWICE's lack of a legit creative director has never been more obvious than in the ICSM MV. In an era where the styling's finally close to perfect, the HMU stunning, the choreo amazing and the song being probably the best title track of their transitionary period, the effort put..

...to 5 MVs mashed together. The editing made it clunky and erratic as well. I didn't care for the story version since whatever continuation it should have had from M&M wasn't apparent. The styling doesn't match the sets. Far too much unnecessary cgi that makes the overall feel..
..unsophisticated. It's not totally unsalvageable because there are facets of it that are beautifully shot and could work as a different version of the MV if it was re-cut and re-edited, like them dancing at the train station, Mina in white and the borderless art inspired bits.
Story-wise, I was excited to dissect the symbolisms if there are any but I has hard-pressed to find one that fits with the lyrics AND the MV. If ICSM is about the struggle between right and wrong, it was not strongly shown visually at all. It would have been better if they kept..

Inb4 the "you don't like anything, you're ruining the comeback, etc.", I do like a lot. As stated above, I absolutely love the styling, hmu the song and choreo this era. It's just the MV..

..that failed to hit the mark with me. I'm disappointed that jype's replacement for Naive isn't much better. TWICE as their most popular, most decorated & top earner group deserves high quality and well produced MVs like other jype artists have as well. The difference in their...
...production value is glaring and I don't just mean the money spent on them. An MV doesn't have to be expensive to be of great quality. It just needs beautiful shots, good editing, good direction and most importantly, a clear creative vision and substance.
