I don't know who needs to hear this (a lot of you) but taking advantage of the electoral college (which should be abolished) to not taint yourself voting for the candidate you admit you want to win is also taking advantage of millions of people in your state who just suck it up.

It's against the spirit of solidarity, it reduces politics to a form of personal self-expression, it produces no discernible material gains whatsoever, and even if you're going to do it, you shouldn't use a large public platform to encourage other people to do it.

And I want to be clear: I am not vote-shaming. This is addressed to the tiny number of people out there with meaningful platforms. I am shaming you for abusing those platforms to encourage bad political outcomes, and you deserve to feel ashamed about that, all of you.
