Another chapter in the story of Slave Orchestras and Ensembles! I won’t be surprised if we eventually find enslaved people that actually composed for the groups! https://twitter.com/rism_music/status/1320761283646554112
And per my points about formerly colonized countries having their own relationship to Classical Music. This 1783 anthology has 165 pieces: 72 anonymous; 93 have composer attributions--Many of them Spanish and Portuguese.

And here's a piece in Spanish that seems to claim that Maria Antonia Palacios might have also composed?

"María Antonia, esclava y músico: La traza de un rostro borrado por/para la literatura chilena"
Paulina M. Barrenechea Vergara

If I'm understanding this piece correctly, this was actually a dissertation proposal. The dissertation is "La figuración del negro en la literatura colonial chilena. María Antonia Palacios, esclava y músico: ..." (2007) and am looking for a copy of it! https://twitter.com/Silpayamanant/status/1320915721870807044
Here are the CD liner notes for the release mentioned earlier in this thread.
