Today I'm in Columbia, where #SCSen Democratic hopeful @HarrisonJaime is campaigning with @common. They're starting the day with a stop at a barber shop on North Main St. before an appearance at one HBCU, then a concert at another.
There are 8 days until Election Day.

Harrison's opponent, Republican @LindseyGrahamSC, is in DC today, as the Senate votes on confirmation of President Trump's SCOTUS pick, Amy Coney Barrett.
During his most recent SC event, Graham said he wouldn't be back in the state "until Amy Barrett’s on the Supreme Court.”

“I’m honored to be here,” @common says, to @HarrisonJaime, saying that he’s happy to amplify the Democrat’s message in this #SCSen race.
“You’re a legend in the making,” he adds.

"I've been looking for someone who is caring, who takes time to listen ... who was just down to earth," @common says to @HarrisonJaime. "This is one of the reasons that spells out why I feel super grateful to be here. We're looking for leadership like this, around our country."
"One of my biggest keys before any political party ... is to support human beings who are looking to better other human beings & stand with integrity," @common says, of backing @HarrisonJaime. "It's important that we hear & we amplify this message."
Elbow bump & they're done.

Now I'm at Benedict College, where @common & @cthagod are going to be performing at a drive-in #SCSen rally/concert for @HarrisonJaime.
The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m., as @LindseyGrahamSC & other senators will be debating the SCOTUS confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett in DC.

"Show folks that blood, sweat & tears of men & women who came before us & gave us the opportunity to do great things that we're doing right now ... that that was not in vain," Columbia Mayor @SteveBenjaminSC says to a honking crowd, urging votes for @HarrisonJaime in #SCSen.
Meanwhile, @LindseyGrahamSC is speaking on the Senate floor ahead of an expected vote approving Amy Coney Barrett to SCOTUS, which he says is "exactly where she needs to be."
Graham also pledges to work with whoever wins the presidential election to "move this country forward."

"We are going to close the book on the 'Old South' & write a brand new book called 'A New South' - a new South that is ... inclusive," @harrisonjaime says tonight, hitting much of his standard stump. "Where we all have voices that should be heard."
"You want to make sure that you've got somebody who's gonna give you a helping hand," @harrisonjaime says. "But we have senator in @LindseyGrahamSC that, when you fall down, instead of him giving you a hand up, he kicks you, so you can get down low."
"I want to make sure y'all go out & spread the word to everybody about @harrisonjaime & make sure everybody is voting up & down that ticket," @common tells a crowd, which organizers tell me is 360+ cars.
"Let's go!" he says, before his set. "We in Columbia. We here to do it."

That's it from my day on the #SCSen campaign trail with @harrisonjaime & @common.
