This is probably the best example of why I prefer wingers playing on the wing with their strong foot.

If you give this exact ball to Mahrez 9/10 he slows it down to try and cut in or do some stepovers. Now it may work but you give it to a right footer your almost certain a goal
Same with if you give it to sterling on the other side. It’s not quite the same here but as soon as sterling gets the ball he’s always looking to shoot on his right and you can tell from his first touch this is what he wants to do and you lessen the chance of scoring
Another example but this time it’s Bernardo, let it come across your body shoot on your right almost guaranteed goal but because your left footed your always trying to hit it on the left foot and it’s so less likely to go in
Maybe if the wingers just trusted their weaker foot a bit better it would help, for example sterling last season goes with his left and scores
Sterling this season gets virtually the exact same chance doesn’t trust his left and squanders it. His first touch in the previous clip sets him up for the easier shot, this clip is first touch is him setting up his right foot and taking it too close to the keeper.
There’s so many examples of why having a strong foot on each side is better but there’s not much I can do about it 😂
Another example, sterling on the right is actually able to use his pace because he knows once I beat my man I’m able to just shoot rather than thinking I have to beat my man then slow down to take it in on my strong foot and create a scoring chance
Another example showing the same thing as before. I just think if you have wingers playing on the wing with there strong foot it is much easier to score and create chances
