ok so i didn’t put this out earlier for obvious reasons but i’m just gonna say it real quick for posterity sake. it’s about how a friend of mine, adenike (not real name) lost close to 1.5M because she said no to a man.

apparently she met him while we were still in unilag, toward the middle of last year 2019. i don’t have more detail about how they met but after a week, they became so close that she literally didn’t have any time for me. and she jokingly used to called me her bestfriend lol.

the guy, jordan akinyemi (real name cosa fraudster doesn’t deserve anonymity), claimed to be a web developer & he usually took her to some restaurant near his tech hub on the island every friday. friday nov 8 2019 was the day he revealed his beastly self...

as if her spirit knew, she texted out of the blue to tell me about their outing that friday. same one that they’ve been going on for weeks, so why tell me about it now? i sha told her to be safe & update me. keep in mind they weren’t officially dating so i still watched over her

it was 12am, the time adenike said i should call if i hadn’t heard from her - because something might be up. so i called, but her phone was switched off. usually, at 12am, i’m clinging to my sleep regardless of whoever is sick or kidnapped or dying, but this was nike, i couldn’t

so in minutes i was already on 3rdmb, about 15 minutes out from the place (can’t mention the tech hubs name for obvious reasons). i got there and lo and behold, nike was in cuffs and was already being dragged out. i quickly stopped them and tried to find out what exactly had..

happened and the REAL hub manager said the guy parading as ‘jordan’ who she was with, was never the owner of the hub. apparently all the friday’s that they’ve been going, he‘d been taking her to the hubs restaurant & buying stuff on credit. i asked adenike to explain

and she said she was equally confused, but the only thing that transpired that night was that he asked her out and she didn't respond. then he disappeared. that’s when the hub manager came & everything unraveled. i asked to see the cumulative bill and when i saw 1.2, i almost ran
