I was in a mixed high-school, and the deputy principal in charge of girl's affairs and house mistresses would punish girls for having colored hairbands, polish on nails, colourful inner-wear, and styled hair claiming that these things attracted boys...
There was this girl who decided to cut her hair short. As it grew out, it fikad the point where it was too short to hold with a band, but long enough to rock an afro. She was forced to "weka chem"... Imo, her hair was amazing as it was.
If you ask me, right now, it don't make no sense.

Boys should have been taught that a girl is to be respected, regardless of what she has on.
And natural hair should be normalised in high schools. Let these girls rock bantu knots, twist outs and braids as opposed to this "retouch" during midterm and nininini...
