The #Jesuit university in San Salvador speaks out against militarization of border with Honduras. What was initially billed as an effort to stop people from entering the country during the #covid crisis now is being called an effort to block drug cartels https://noticias.uca.edu.sv/editoriales/ignorancia-e-inhumanidad">https://noticias.uca.edu.sv/editorial...
it& #39;s causing problems for locals because, due to a verdict from an international court in 1992, some folks who had land in this disputed zone ended up with homes in El Salvador and working lands in Honduras and vice versa
now they& #39;re not allowed to cross. families are separated. local governments got involved but the Salvadoran president accused them of being involved with the cartels
Now the church is getting involved. The diocese where this dispute is taking place is having a press conference today, which will prob address some of this. https://twitter.com/rolandomataf/status/1320413285603287044?s=20">https://twitter.com/rolandoma...
