it's causing problems for locals because, due to a verdict from an international court in 1992, some folks who had land in this disputed zone ended up with homes in El Salvador and working lands in Honduras and vice versa

now they're not allowed to cross. families are separated. local governments got involved but the Salvadoran president accused them of being involved with the cartels
