So I posted this on my Tumblr, but I'm also going to share it here:

Roman is a despicable person. There’s no doubt about that. But the fact that after FIVE years of going through physical, mental and emotional abuse from not only other wrestlers, but fans as well... Jimmy is literally the only person to try and comfort Roman.

Even after everything Roman has done so far, Jimmy realizes the immense pressure his cousin has endured, and is STILL going through. That the burden of carrying WWE on his shoulders, and the responsibility of living up to their family name can be too much.

It's why I believe Roman's mini breakdown in the ring was partially genuine. Because for a moment, he got to have that small bit of reprieve. Someone actually CARED how he felt, and wanted to know how to help.

Taking a look through Roman's history... no one's really done that before. Yes, he had The Shield. But even then, that love would be conditional. A good example is his suspension back in 2016. Seth berated Roman for succumbing to the pressure, and Dean used it to his advantage.

Jimmy's unprecedented approach of using pure love and understanding-- even bridging the gap between him and Roman first, makes all the difference. And you can see Roman soaking it up, savoring that lost feeling for the final time before doing something he can never take back.
