How to rank #1 on Google for a high volume keyword within hours.

A thread on how we got 10k visitors from organic search within 3 days on a new blog article.

THREAD on fast-result SEO 🧵
You can only rank #1 for high volume keywords if:

A: you have an authoritative website & have a web page that's been up for months/years.

But few people or small businesses have this, so:

B: you need to be smart and be in the water before the SEO wave starts.

This is how:
Twitter changed the way we retweet. And whenever behavior changes that's when you can hit a home run with SEO.

Search volume on the new search phrase "I can't retweet" surged.

You can do this in any niche and I'll give you some examples below.
When I first read that Twitter was changing the RT function, I knew this was gonna be big.

I opened Wordpress and wrote a 250-word article. (No you don't need to spend hours writing a huge article). Within hours search traffic started coming in.
Within days we had 15,000 pageviews on that one article that took me about 30 minutes to create.

You know that for queries like this your visitors will leave once they know what went one. So I added a lead magnet to the page and a link to a tweet they could RT.
We collected over 100 email leads and got 120 people to retweet our tweet, giving extra eyeballs to our brand. And so far we gained 7 backlinks which will help us rank other content in Google as well.
I had no clue what people were Googling when this change happened so I winged the keywords and title of the page.

"Retweet not working" was my working title. After a couple of days, I had search console data and changed it to "Why you can't retweet and how to fix"
Changing the title to include the most relevant & high volume keyword increased CTR & our position in search engines.

Don't rely on Google's Keyword Planner (image) for search volume on changed behavior.

Wing it at first.

How to replicate fast-result SEO in your niche:

- This works when BigCo's / Government make changes
- Follow announcements on businesses in your niche

Example changes: new software version, new game character, product intro, a feature change/removal, etc.
Once you've identified a relevant change in your niche, don't overcomplicate the article at first. Spend just a bit of time writing it. See if you get traction and if there's search volume. Add updates in the weeks after the change went live to stay relevant with all the info.
Add multiple touchpoints to an article. You're writing news-related stuff & people leave as quickly as they came. This retains more value from search traffic.

- Lead magnet/email list
- Reference other articles relevant to the topic
- Include links to posts on your social media
It's now been less than a week & we crossed 20k pageviews on the article. You can do this too!

Be on the lookout for changes in your niche. Anticipate search traffic, Write a short article to see if you get traction. Add lead magnets when you get traction.

Rinse and repeat!
