“Don’t judge a book by its cover”

This applies to to every thing and person you encounter

But how many people actually follow this rule?

Pretty much no one

QUICK THREAD on why, and what to do about it 🔽🔽
Whether it’s a book, a person, a food, or almost anything else, your initial judgment is based on your first sight of it

Interesting cover? The book must be interesting

Attractive person? I want to meet them

Good looking food? I’d love to try it
Your subconscious mind is working at all times

Whether you want to judge something or not, your mind is going to when it first sees it

No matter how much you believe you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover
You can do everything in your power to stop judging this way, and you’ll eventually become less judgmental

But one thing you must learn:

Most people aren’t going to try very hard to override their subconscious mind

So they will be judging everything at first sight
You shouldn’t care what other people think about you

But you should care about how you present yourself

A healthy presentation will lead to:

- More friends
- More connections
- More opportunities
- More happiness
The best part is, it’s not that hard to be a more presentable person

Here are 5 ways to ensure your presentation isn’t holding you back:
1. Smile more

Smiling is simply a more attractive and positive look than not

Do it, and more people will want to talk to you and associate with you

Trust in the power of a smile
2. Get in shape

You don’t have to have a perfect diet or perfect body

But you should be healthy enough that people wouldn’t describe you as “out of shape”

Even though it’s not always the case, people tend to judge those who are not fit as “lazy”

Don’t get categorized this way
3. Practice good hygiene

This one is obvious

If you are dirty or smell bad, people won’t want to hang out with you

Simple as that
4. Wear clothes that fit you

If your clothes are too big or too small for you, you’ll look funny

And people will judge you for it

Find the right fitting clothes, and don’t wear bad fits in public
5. Practice good posture

Good posture exudes confidence

Confidence leads to positive judgement

Stand up straight

Keep your shoulders back

Keep your head level

And let your arms hang by your sides

It’ll make a huge difference
You can stop judging people by their initial appearance as much as you want

But everyone else is going to continue to judge

Let them, and give yourself an advantage by following the rules in this thread

Sometimes your cover makes all the difference 👀
