CHP CAD says FD is requesting that they shut down Santiago Canyon road both directions between Live Oak and El Toro. An additional unit may help control traffic on the 133.

The Santiago Canyon weather station, however, is reporting winds NE32/50, 10% RH, and 56 F. IC wants SB 241 shut down toward the 133.

Just heard that the fire has now crossed the 241. Requesting 20 immediate need engines to Portola Parkway and Orchard Hills for structure protection. Evacuations will be happening soon. Irvine PD is at the command post.

To me, this looks like the populated areas north of Irvine Boulevard and east of the 261. Reports now of backyard on Cortland and also Interlude. Trees are now on fire on the west side of Portola at Paragon.

Shelter/evac points for people affected by the #SilveradoFire are opening at: University Community Center, 1 Beech Tree Lane, Irvine; and Quail Hill Community Center, 39 Shady Canyon Drive, Irvine.
Hearing that on another side, the #SilveradoFire has now jumped Hicks Canyon Road and is heading toward Loma Ridge.
