Bisexuality, Pansexuality, Omnisexuality and Polysexuality -- and explanation! + a reminder

PANSEXUAL - refers to a sexual orientation that is completely unrelated to gender identity. "so like, u don't give a shit at all" (gender-blind)

OMNISEXUAL -- refers to a sexual orientation where in you are attracted to all genders. gender still plays a role in your attraction and you can have preferences.

POLYSEXUAL -- refers to a sexual orientation wherein you are attracted to more than one gender, but not like all of them.

bisexual has two competing definitions:

a) attraction to men and women exclusively.

b) attraction to your gender as well as other genders. so essentially just a synonym of omnisexual? BUT-

"personally, i think bisexual could mean an attraction to masculine traits as well as feminine traits instead of just male and female. so like, it's still anchored on the binary system of gender expression but not necessarily gender identity"

This one works because it doesn't exclude non-binary people (a problem with a.) and it's more distinct from omnisexual (a problem with b.)

REMINDER:

Remember btw that like gender, sexuality, and the labels we assign to them are like really arbitrary. so these definitions are more subjective than objective. You can't really measure attraction so you could think about stuff like an entirely different way!
