just a random thread since something was brought up in my server recently

we all don& #39;t really like wifi as much as offline, and we do like to blame a lot of things to the admittedly incompetent design of the online mode, but the one thing that really irks me is the idea that --
-- & #39;wifi wins don& #39;t count& #39;. Not to say that wifi doesn& #39;t let you get away with a lot of stuff that wouldn& #39;t work otherwise, but its easy for the player who prefers offline to say that and not really know the situation that the other player might be in.
what do i mean? lets assume we live in a world where covid is gone for good and it& #39;s safe to do offline tournaments again. even then, people still might not be able to go to them, either out of not knowing about the scene, monetary, distance, or even school related reasons.
So for this certain type of player, wifi is really all they have to play on. I know this feeling because last year I went from march-december without going to an offline event because of school, and all i really had was wifi tournaments.
Point of this is really just this: I think for most smashers its a *little* too easy to dismiss accomplishments on wifi for the sole reason of & #39;its wifi& #39;. Some people have no choice on the matter, and it& #39;s really not as easy to go to offline events as people make it out to be.
Don& #39;t get me wrong - I still prefer offline to wifi and that will not change, but I just had to get this off my chest
