consider: iwaizumi staring at oikawa so intently while theyre studying. oikawa is usually not bothered by his boyfriend looking at him like /that/ but iwaizumi has been wordlessly focused on whatever is on his face for a couple of minutes now and he doesnt know how to react.

so after a couple of minutes later he decides to break the silence.

"uhm, iwa-chan? is there something stuck in my nose or something?"

iwaizumi only shakes his head and proceeds to keep eye contact with oikawa (the blush that paints oikawa's cheeks is inevitable).

"so... why are you looking at me like that?" oikawa asks uneasily, unsure with how to deal with an iwaizumi who isnt making fun of him.

in response, iwaizumi only squints harder, so oikawa waves a hand in front of iwaizumi.

his boyfriend clearly didnt appreciate that though, considering how he immediately grabbed oikawa's wrist. oikawa waits for the playful hit, but iwaizumi only pulls him closer, eyes still fixed on his as if he's searching for /something/.

"i really don't mind you being so entranced with my face, iwa-chan, but i would appreciate it if you tell me why."

iwaizumi continues to ignore him and oikawa is about to make another retort when:

"shut up. im trying to see whats the real color of your eyes."

oikawa gapes at him for a couple of beats before he pulls away from iwaizumi completely to bury his face in his hands, an attempt to hide how flustered is.

"you cant just say shit like that, iwa-chan!"

(later, they will lie side by side on the futon, silently looking at each other in muted wonder as they make sense of how their eyes seem to shine brighter when they both shed tears of joy.)
