first, i want to link some information abt red drum killings. the gifted global made a post earlier with a diagram showing the killing process, which i would recommend looking at before you read this thread https://twitter.com/TheGiftedGlobal/status/1320391041371914240

now onto my actual analysis. the biggest thing making me think yuth is still alive is how silent it was when supoj went to look for him

the following excerpt from the book talks abt how the screams of victims were covered w revved engines

we saw this happen in the introductory scene of the episode, in which a telepath was killed by the ministry. the noise made by the man in the car revving the engine mixed w the screams of the victim

if yuth was burned alive, we likely would've heard a scream, the revving of a car engine, or both. however, neither are heard when he disappears, which supports the idea that he might not have died

the next thing i want to consider is the time it would have taken a victim to die. according to quora (which ik isn't exactly a reputable source but i'm lazy), it would only take minutes for a victim to die from the fumes if fuel is used

in the intro sequence, fuel was used in the rdk carried out by the ministry. since yuth was also allegedly killed by the ministry, we can assume he would have been covered in fuel as well

based on this, it likely would have taken him a few minutes to die, in which time his killers would have to cover his screams. it also would have taken at least a few minutes for everything to be set up. however, supoj found the oil drum-

-fairly quickly after realizing that yuth was gone, so there likely wasn't enough time for the process to have taken place. this points to the idea that the whole thing was a set up
now, i saw some people say that the drum didn't look like it was big enough for yuth to fit inside. however, the book states that rdks were carried out in 200L drums. according to wikipedia, a standard 200L drum has an interior height of 851mm/33.5" and diameter of 572mm/22.5"

this seems like it would be too small to fit the body of an adult male, but the drum in the show looks to be abt this size. this means that it must have been possible for his entire body to fit inside, as this is what is done in reality

that doesn't actually support the theory that yuth is alive, but i wanted to point it out so that all factors are taken into consideration. also, the drum is abt the same size as the one in the intro, which was used for an actual killing
tw mentions of death

all of these factors point to the possibility that yuth might be alive. that then begs the question of where he went. many people seem to think that he and the ministry were in on it together. however, i think it's more likely that yuth faked his own death
there are a couple of things that make me think he's working alone. first, we know that he disappeared while supoj was on the phone in the other room. while supoj was on the phone, he hears a noise in the other room. he believes that this sound is yuth being taken forcefully by-
-people from the ministry. however, if he were actually captured, it would have made more sense if we had heard a shout or something more akin to a struggle. from what i can tell, though, the sound he hears is most likely the chair being knocked over. this sound only lasted for-
-a few seconds. if we look at the state of the room, we can see that the chair fell over and that the things on the table have been messed up. however, i don't think this is what would have happened if he were captured. the chair he was seated in was on the opposite side of the-
-table from the door. since there are no broken windows or anything, the only way someone could've gone in or out was through the door. though some stuff on the table was knocked over, neither the table nor the other chair was displaced, which i find odd
next, when supoj gets a call on the phone he got from pichet, there is no one on the other end of the line. if yuth was actually working w the ministry, it probably would've made more sense for an actual person to call supoj to avoid raising suspicion. bc there was only static-
-on the other end, i think that's the best yuth could do working by himself. i also found it sus that yuth even knew abt the phone. earlier, he talked as if he had just found out that supoj was alive, so there's no way he could know abt all details of his exile such as the phone
next, though this one is less reliable since we didn't get a good look around the area, i didn't see any sort of footprints or tire tracks. basically, the whole landscape looked way too clean for it to have happened
also, if yuth were working by himself, no one would've known what he was up to, so he could've easily set up the oil drum beforehand and then led supot in that direction. i also thought the glasses were a bit sus bc they probably wouldn't have landed there in an actual fight
also, pichet didn't seem to know what supoj was talking abt when he asked what happened to his friend. he could have been lying, of course, but he also didn't take responsibility for it, so kuth might've actually been working on his own
i don't really want to go into his motives rn bc this thread is already long enough, but yeah, pretty much all of the evidence i can find has lead me to the conclusion that kuth faked his own death
