Top 10 fantasy takeaways from the week 7 slate (encompassing all forms of the fantasy football game) ⬇️⬇️⬇️
1. Tanny and the titans offence is legit. Despite the loss, the furious comeback effort against the league’s best D shows that this team is for real. Tannehill, Brown and Henry are every week studs. Davis, Jonnu will be more volatile but are in play weekly
2. Fournette got 55% of snaps, split carries evenly + seven targets.... thats a startable workload for him similar to what we see from Swift last 2 games. That leaves Rojo as the AP. Still a starter but TD dependent with no pass work. However, they only played 2 RBs! Bye shady!
3. The chargers are an absolute blast! Their D has regressed with injuries, they place pace up, pass happy & Hebert is chucking dimes all over the lot. Allen should be considered a top 10 WR till further notice. Henry, Williams have high upside but beyond Allen it’s very spread.
I’m now worried about zeke. Dalton looked brutal, Denuci looked worse, and every dallas skill player suffered for it (cooper was still solid somehow). Zeke lost his pass game floor this week, and his TD upside is eroded making him more of a volume high end RB2 barring O improving
5. Other teams now know DK is Seattle’s WR1. Metcalf was bracketed and/or shadowed all night long by an AZ defence daring Lockett to beat them. He did, repeatedly, and yet AZ stuck to the plan. If others scheme similarly DK may be a touch volatile as Russ will go to the open man
6. The browns offence far surpassed my expectations sans OBJ. H Bryant, Rasherd Higgins, and DPJ all stepped up big today. Idk how sustainable that is against top defences if OBJ is done for the year. Look for more use of 2 RB sets once Chubb comes back keeping both involved
7. AJ Green is legitimately back. Zac Taylor our AJ in the slot this week, a role that revived Larry Fitzgerald’s career in the Arians era. With Higgins outside and the Bengals running 4 wide, Green’s slot reps allow him to use his savvy while hiding his lost separation ability
8. Minshew Mania is on its last legs. Gardner was pitiful today despite a 29 on the scoreboard that was mostly due to a blocked punt and a stud performance from JROB. Minshew missed open WRs, was uncomfortable in the pocket and checked down too early. He’s not a long term option.
9. Chase Edmonds could be a league winner. He’s been the best RB in AZ’s backfield all year, and while I wish for nothing but the best with Kenyan Drake, a long term injury could give Edmonds a chance to be a workhorse 3 down RB1 in a high octane offence.
10. Diontae Johnson is still an alpha. DJ came back off essentially a 3 game absence and instantly put up 15 targets and 2 TDs. He’s the guy who wins at all levels for this team. Juju mans the short areas, Claypool’s the deep threat and they’ll be matchup dependent going forward.
