I want to start a conversation about Shamanism.

We hear a lot about astrology and other "otherwordly" occultism in the form of prechristian numerology (see: sumeria assyria et al)

what I want to talk about is the Shaman
We might codify a "shaman" as a masculine herbalist who has a spiritual understanding of the world. In the Americas we have a long history of "medicine men" who understood a spiritual world surrounding the people he 'supported' for lack of a better word
in my opinion this is a post-colonial designation.

in pre-colonial europe you have many examples of feminine herbalists who had a likewise "supportive spiritual understanding"

to try to project backwards on these people a scientific understanding is to misunderstand history
these women were oftentimes labeled witches. I don't have to belabor what happened to them. likewise, many leaders in the places where medicine men existed were treated similarly, the medicine men included.
So what I want Men who read this thread to understand is that you can help, you can plant herbs, harvest them, lift people up and keep life living.
