Thread Alert

I normally practice Maun for 2 days during Navratri. Its just a way of connecting with myself and yes some spiritual practice.

With Humble pranaams at the feet of my Spiritual Gurus I am sharing experiences of this exercise +
Witness Mode

When we are in Maun, we dont speak or communicate. After a while the mind also stops thinking or analysing We are just watching and not reacting. We just become a witness to whats happening.

This is really the best learning +
We are not the Doer

We realise that things are happening whether we participate in it or not. People move on. We are irrelevant. In fact we are not even doing anything. But things do get done.

In a way we are not the doer +
Meditation is not done, It Happens

Lots of friends tell me that they are not able to meditate. But in my experience, when we simply sit with eyes closed and just watch ourselves, the frequency of thoughts start reducing and meditation happens. +
On the contrary when we try to control our thoughts the frequency keeps increasing and the state of meditation is never "achieved"

This is what my Guru @srisri has taught me all the time.
Aatmanirbhar
There were few times I needed something from a place where my parents were standing or located. Normally I would have called out to them and requested them to fetch it
Now that calling them was ruled out, I did it myself. I had to sit, walk to the place and get it.+
In a way I was AatmaNirbhar Something which our dear PM @NarendraModi has espoused since Covid Started

This I believe was the reason for a minimalistic lifestyle
+
Minimalistic Lifestyle
Subsequently there were times when I decided I could do without something that I normally would have used. The silence was so peaceful that I didnt feel like walking across the room to get something.
+
Now I am able to understand why great Yogis have minimum possessions or Yogis are supposed to have minimal possessions

I have heard all above principles of Spiritual practice. This is information which lots of us know about. But thats in theory

+
However, when we practice Silence we can actually understand the realise the need and logic for these principles

I am now totally convinced that its great to know the theory of Dharma and spiritual sadhana but practising it is a new world experience

+
This is the difference between information and realisation

This is the difference between a knowledgeable and realised soul

I pray to my Gurus to grant me the grace to get to the realised state
