I love @jodipicoult and her writing for SO many reasons. A thread. Shall I begin?

1. She does SO much research to get her characters perfect. The Book of Two Ways: Egyptologist AND a Death Doula. Two things you can’t just make up on the fly. Extensive research pays off BIG.
2. Somehow, someway she ALWAYS has something relatable in her books. I’m on page 51 of TBOTW and have already cried. I just watched my grandmother die on hospice almost 3 weeks ago and she writes about the same emotions. Her characters ALWAYS have a realness to them.
3. Nothing she does is ever simple. I feel like I’m getting a literal education out of this book. So far, I’ve learned a LOT about Egypt and about Djehutyhotep. Never imagined learning that name, but here we are. Same with NEDA — I didn’t know what a death doula even was.
4. I got so caught up in her books. There’s nothing that can pull me out. She writes with passion and elegance and it just keeps you wanting more. I have to go to bed, BUT I CANT STOP.
@jodipicoult this thread will continue with time. But just know I love you and your books and I just appreciate all the work you out in. Also thank you for somehow connecting with me spiritually and just knowing I needed this rn ♥️ (also lowkey when’s the next book????)
