Doing a little research ahead of tomorrow’s announcement by @GovernorLittle. On a county-by-county basis, Madison (Rexburg) has by far the most cases per capita and it happened fast. Ada is 17th of 44
Over the past 7 days, Ada even lower at 23rd on a per capita basis
The number of deaths in Shoshone is fifth overall at 20 - but because of the small population there, that’s a significant number on a per capita basis
On a 7-day rolling basis, we are just under the summer peak in hospitalizations statewide.
One metric I’ve kept an eye on - that we only have data on through September 12 - is the number of deaths above average. From March 15 through Sept 12, there were 700 more deaths across the state than usual. This compares with the 574 deaths with COVID listed as a cause.
So that’s the situation in cold, hard facts. No hype, no spin. Just the data. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.
